NileValleyDreams: Welcome to BUNAppétit, an amalgamation of two references, bon appétit and buna—bon appétit which is a salutation for a person who is about to eat and buna which is Amharic (Ethiopian) for coffee—yes, I love coffee! Coffee, relative to its use as a caffeine rich stimulant, was first discovered in Ethiopia. My influences will be wide-ranging; however, most of my prepared meals with be informed by my Jamaican background, Habesha (Ethiopian | Eritrean), Japanese, Indian and South American (Peru) cuisines. Nutrition/bioavailability, culture, humanity, taste and aesthetics are all at the core of all prepared meals. Respective posts, aided by videos and still images, will focus on ingredients sourcing, meal preparation, nutrition and meal consumption. Time-restricted feeding/intermittent fasting and outright fasting (water-only consumption) will also influence all of my meals.
